After billions of years the evolution is still happening but at one of it’s most critical times ever. Evolution has formed a new giant step like DNA that can speed up the process considerably but can also turn the clock back big time. The previous article explained how evolution got to this point but what about these critical times?

Planet Earth

The forming of more complex order takes place in a confined space: planet Earth. A small planet in one of many big galaxies in many huge superclusters of galaxies. Planet Earth has a certain timeframe before it is burned by it’s aging sun.

Well for now Earth has formed a delicate balance in which it could contain life. If the balance is off by a kind of ‘parasite’ or chemical, things will die so there is a new emptiness in which new life can prosper. You could see the whole planet as a living creature which keeps itself in balance: Gaia.

A very dangerous step

Well the evolution took a very dangerous step. It formed a creature that could manipulate it’s own surrounding environment. With this ability to adapt even to the harshest kind of environments meant that the creature could spread over the whole planet. The creature could even overcome some of it’s own limitations by adapting things to help itself and could even improve those designs by evolution of those designs. Knowledge could be passed on to grow and evolve. A process was born that evolved much quicker than anything else before. A technosphere besides the biosphere.

The Technosphere is so fast that no balance could be found with the biosphere. The creature itself is at the basis of this quick evolution. It sees the advantages of this technosphere which could be the next much quicker step in evolution. But it forgets the environment it lives in the process. The biosphere degrades, the conditions the creature can live in degrades with it. But the creature only minds it’s own goals and it’s own direct environment. But what about all those others of it that are also covering and manipulating the environment out of balance?

Will evolution survive this step?

The next step which added intelligence to the dumb but persisting evolution process is in critical times. Will it stay or will evolution fall back? The creatures that are needed for it need the balance of the biosphere. The planet they are on is the only spot in the universe where they can survive at the moment. Can balance be found again with these explosive new steps in evolution or is this step for nothing?
