What would Yoda say?

Yoda Fighting

Terrible things are happening in the world right now. Terrorists want to blow up planes full of westerns, Hezbollah is bombing Israeli cities with primitive rockets, innocent Lebanon people are terrorized and cities leveled by Israeli bombs.

What the hell is happening? Let’s not look into the history. But let’s look at it from a Star Wars Perspective.

The Light side vs Dark side

Well Bush said it after the september 11 attacks: “You are either with us or against us.” He wants to destroy the “Evil Axis” that wants to eradicate “freedom and our way of life”. The other side is the dark side that wants to repress the human mind and will and wants to erradicate all that is against them.

Well what is the so called dark side thinking? ‘They’ have lived in suppression their whole lives, what they build is either destroyed by Israeli, Americans or their own regimes. Those people don’t know what to live for and see the Americans as the evil. The same Americans that were once considered the prime example by living in freedom by them.

The Light side Dark side vs Dark side

But the US is delivering the Israeli their weapons which destoys much of the Arabic area. The Arabics can do nothing about it because radicalists amidst them are furiating the Israeli who create hate for all that what looks like radicalists. In the mean time the US is sponsoring the Saudi’s and was sponsering the Iranian government before the Iranian revolution. The Iranians were sick of not being in control of their country (it was a US sponsered dictatorship) and took action. And hate creates radicalist behaviour so a radical party took control. The US and Israeli actions are only creating and fueling hate because they hate.

The extremist muslims see themselves as the light side fighting against the hate spreading dark side. They are not fighting against American values and Freedom. They are fighting for their own freedom and against oppression. The US wants to force a system on them. And what happens when something is forced, you begin to hate it.

Each side sees themselves as the light side and the other as the dark side. Everything they say is about polarizing to fuel the hate and cause. It is about creating fear for what the other side could do…

What would Yoda say?

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering!

Both sides are fueling fear. Both sides are the dark side… The other countries don’t know what to do and either pick sides or look weak at the side lines.

Like the recent example of the possible bombing of the British planes. They were following the suspects for months but they reacted in the worst way possible. They act on the last moment when the terrorists are about to do what they would like to do. They could have taken action earlier. Now there were drastic actions necessary on the airfields. Massive fear was spread. The western way of live is taken from us by prohibiting almost all things you can take on an airplane. The propaganda was right for the people, they begin to hate the other side. The whole society is again more polarized.

The whole actions of the USA government begins to look like the actions on how the emperor and the dark side got to power in Episode 3. By a terrorist action, which fueled the fear and brought hate to the current government. Chancellor Palpetine had the senate fueled by anger and hate in his hands and could do what he wanted, spreading hate and fear.

What to do?

Well the Dark Side wants you to give in to the fear and create anger. Give it up. Don’t fear! The Jedi’s are almost all destroyed in this world. Even Yoda gave in into the hate (see above picture) and realised it so he went into exile to remove himself from the bad emotions/actions… Be a Jedi and come back in Episode 6: Return of the Jedi!

Side question: Why is almost every Hollywood movie forcing you into a good side and bad side… Why are they all forcing you to hate an other dark side… Maybe we are all brainwashed by the Dark Side in the form of movies. Even Star Wars creates this polarizing effect that is against its internal philosophy…

Hey look! Another blame the US and Israel for everything article! Wow, this was such a well thought out article! I mean you back it up with “facts” and “logic”!

Wow, this is complete tripe. And it’s just another anti-US and anti-Israel article. Gee, how come you don’t bash the terrorists who kill the innocent? And don’t give me this bullshit that Israel is directly targetting civilians, Hezbollah and the rest of these cowards hide among the innocent and end up being casualties of war. How come we don’t hear that coming from your mouth? Wonder why….

And, Yoda didn’t flee to Degobah because he was feeling angry and letting his anger get to him, it’s because the Jedi were being anhiliated by the clones and annakin by Order 66. In order to keep the Jedi race alive, he had to go into seclusion, just like Obi-Wan.

Sorry, my spam filter is stricter than I thought. (and I don’t check it regularly) But I think this was because the semi fake email addresses.

I think you misunderstood what I am saying here. I say both sides are bad because they are reinforcing hate deliberately or indeliberately. It does not matter what their intentions are but it is the effect that counts. The hate is destroying the good will. The hate is what Yoda hated. Thats why he went into exile. He escaped the factors that contributed to his hate.

I think people need to step back, and forget about everything they know (Or more accurately, that they’re been told, since they likely “know” nothing) about the situation in the mideast.

    Then, analyze this statement:

“…Hezbollah and the rest of these cowards hide among the innocent and end up being casualties of war.”

If something about it still does not strike you as being terribly wrong, then you are a lost cause as an individual.

Obviously the ignorant warmongers who’ve commented here just refuse to GET IT. You’re right that the US, as well as other non-Arab interests, are mostly responsible for the tragedy that is the Middle East today. However, this doesn’t expunge the fact that the Islamists are now bent on converting or killing (your choice) anyone who refuses to become one of them. And although I don’t wish the Israelis harm, I also don’t see why my government supports them with millions of dollars annually and all the weapons we can ship to them. The whole damned thing is just insane.

u guys know shit, you dont live here and see what happens, its so easy to criticize something when you dont know whats really going on.

julius, you can go fuck yourself, if your whole family was killed by a arabic suicider , would you think that you are the bad guy ?

we got this country fair and square, there was a vote and it was in our favor, now the arabics started killing the new people who came to the country, we didnt have any weapons or cities, we conquered the rest of the country because they attacked us, so we pushed away to the borders.

  14. Jurriaan Mous Said,

I think both sides are right from their perspective. It is like you watch a cup and you don’t see the handle because it is at the back and you swear there is no handle but someone sitting in front of you does see the handle just because (s)he looks from the other side. Both are right from their view.

Being there, gone through the emotions does not give you a good view on reality. As the star wars link says with the ‘dark side’ you are blinded by hate. It is the responsibility for both sides to look past their perspectives because they are both right and wrong. The world is gray and it is easy to see it black or white if you are connected with one side. Imagine yourself if your family was on the other side. They have also valid rights to be angered and some are thus as they see it forced to take desperate measures. As does the Israeli side. But I condemn both kinds of aggression and see them as equally bad and terrorizing.

  15. awsure Said,

    January 19, 2008 @ 0:49

You are a moron. It’s clear that in your muddled world view everything is a shade of gray and no moral absolutes exist. Ask yourself who deliberately targets & kills civilians, who kidnaps people end beheads them, who is it that commits these atrocities? I see the handle of the cup all too well. You simply wish to place terrorists on a morally equivalent level to the U.S. and Israel. Grow a backbone and abandon your fear to judge…it’s your ability to see an evil and declare it so that separates you from animals.

If my family were Arabic I would condemn those that hide and the shadows, strap bombs to themselves to blow people up, and manipulate the weak minded into a religious foment. You sit on the fence because you are afraid to offend the offensive and too weak minded to offer anything other than platitudes and vapid analogies.

  16. Jurriaan Mous Said,

    January 19, 2008 @ 23:33

I do judge. I hate people that spread hate. And those are on both sides. Both sides cause reactions on both sides. I hate people that think in camps. In camps like this side is the moral good and the other side is ‘evil’. We are all people⁄! But born on different sides of the world. If you are aware of the history you will see that from their view they have the right to feel this way. And I condemn the extreme actions you mention. They cause fear -> anger-> hate -> suffering.

I would like to destroy people that hate. But that also would cause hate so those hating people would want to destroy me… So what does this hating help me? Nothing! So I decided to let go of the hate. We should not focus on groups, we should leave people alone so emotions will settle. Why would any person want to destroy another if that person or the group he/she belongs to didn’t do anything to them.

What one calls terrorists are one others freedom fighters. It is only a matter of perspective. And I condemn their ways because I think there are more powerful non violent ways like Ghandi once demonstrated to show the occupation army as they see it that they don’t want them. But they are saying nobody listens to anything else, and western media give them power by magnifying their act. We are causing the acts ourselves…

You call me weak and fearing. I don’t see it this way. I see you as the fearing one. And you fearing leads to anger, hate and thus suffering to other side. You are fueling the fear! I want a simple solution. Stop hating each other! Leave each other alone and go sit in your own corner.

It is a shame that you would even call me a moron and only use arguments that are based on emotion instead of watching it holistically. It is so simple to judge from emotion. I think the Yoda analogy is still a powerful one.

Stop this hate! Focus on the positive side. Negative focus will only destroy this world. I think we could even be good friends on other topics. Although I tend to avoid shortsighted people who call me moron without knowing the real me. But maybe you can change that.

  17. Jurriaan Mous Said,

    January 20, 2008 @ 0:51

“Good. I can feel your anger. I am defenseless. Take your weapon! Strike me down with all your hatred, and your journey towards the dark side will be complete”

  18. awsure Said,

    January 20, 2008 @ 8:41

The fact you would even give credence to a claim that the 9/11 terrorists are freedom fighters proves you are a moron as I stated. It is not meant as a mean label but specifically descriptive of your nature. You are immersed in a fantasy world where you use the prism of a movie to put forth your views on the world. Your facile arguments are those delivered by someone with 4th grade sensibilities.

How could I hate someone so pathetic? You don’t even register a thought of hate but rather I am in disbelief at your naivety. You claim you judge evil yet you offer up phrases like shades of gray and claim evil is a matter of perspective. Be honest…you do not judge. You haven’t the intellectual or moral compass within you that even makes you capable of it.

Thank goodness we enjoy leadership in this country devoid of your babbling and hand wringing mentality. Rather than try to put forth any more of your pablum why don’t you go buy the Star Wars (and Star Trek for that matter) box set and curl up in your room in your parents basement. Read until you drift into a semi conscious state where Yoda and all your pals come to life in your room. Then sing Kumbi Ya with them until you drift into sleep in your beddy beddy.

  19. Jurriaan Mous Said,

    January 20, 2008 @ 12:14

If we had only your types in the world that judge only on emotions we would be in war with everybody. A judge should be above the emotions and judge from both perspectives.

And you read my sentences wrong. I said I judge and condemn people that do those terrorist actions. We need to judge those actions!!! They are wrong!!! But we are punishing the wrong people. By causing war in whole countries we are making more terrorists. We are not even penalizing the country most of the terrorists were coming from… And we did not even ask ourselves why they did come from that country.

I don’t call them freedomfighters, they themselves do. I call them terrorists because they terrorize. They spread terror, they spread fear.

But the coalition forces are our so called freedom fighters, which they call terrorizing forces. They also spread fear by their presence with weapons. And accidents or polarized soldiers cause new hate. It is all a matter of perspective.

By punishing the wrong people for the acts of people that are dead, and to place those terrorizing dead people on a huge pedestal in the media as martyrs, we are creating new terrorists. It is an endless loop of violence. The wrong way…

Maybe I haven’t grasped your whole idea, but Yoda would say: Mmmmm. Bad things are in the world right now. If more jedi alive there were, we the keepers of peace and justice would set an end to this nasty business. I just hope the sith didn’t start the wars!

  21. Jurriaan Mous Said,
